WWTP Draining in Seribu Islands Keeps Being Intensified

The Seribu Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-dept. keeps intensifying the draining of the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) network in residential areas of Panggang Island Sub-district, North Seribu Islands.

Clean Water and Waste Water Division Head, Rezky Arie Pranata said the draining of the WWTP and manholes in residential areas was conducted to face the rainy season and unpleasant odors in the surrounding environment.

"This work is our routine agenda," he expressed, Tuesday (11/28).

Jakarta to Have New Biological Technology WWTPs This Year

In Panggang Island Urban Village, there were nine zones of WWTP on Pramuka Island with four zones is the Environment Dept's asset in 2012, which was handed over to the SDA Dept. in 2016 and Panggang Island with four WWTP zones.

To prevent odors, his party routinely instructs PJLPs and Seribu Islands WWTP operators to provide liquid bacterial sedding and chlorine.

"Liquid bacterial and chlorine seeding is functioning to keep the bacteria alive, thus processing can reach quality standards. In the future, we will also build a docking site for the WWTP," he stated.
